ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTINOCICEPTIVE ACTIVITY STUDY OF METHANOL EXTRACT OF MIMOSA PUDICA (L.)

The methanol extract of Mimosa pudica was studied for its antibacterial activity against twelve pathogenic bacteria. also effect on acetic acid induced writhing model in mice. showed good two gram-positive and six gram-negative bacteria but failed to show any Staphylococcus pyogenes, Salmonella typhi, Shigella boydii Vibrio cholera. exhibited no antinociceptive test; rather it increased the abdominal constriction or as compared control group which is a sign pain sensation.
